Using A Color Scheme In Your Room

By Dan Hogan

When you set about to design a room, one of the most important things that you will need to tackle will be the color scheme you are going to use. The color scheme will set the entire mood of the room, making it into a light and happy place or a more serious place that you can use to get work done. Of course, you will want all of the objects that you are putting into the room to work well, so you may wish to begin selecting your color scheme by using an object which you already have and plan to include.

If you already have a patterned piece in the room you can choose a color off of this item. By doing so you'll notice the rooms style will pull together easier. If you currently don't have any items, why not base your design on a great pillow or area rug which you've found. Many patterned items have a few colors to choose from so your options won't be limited.

After you have picked the pattern based on the object that you are going to follow, you need to select three colors from that pattern to use as the base for your room. You will want a light color, a dark color, and something in-between. This will help to give you a good balance that will give the eye enough information to look over while it is scanning the room and can help find a healthy medium for the room to exist in.

The lightest color that you choose will be set to be the background of the room, hopefully the colors of the walls. This is usually not hard to achieve because most rental spaces come with white walls and white is the lightest color you can find. Therefore, when you choose the light color, you should find something as close to white as possible because it can provide a great background for the rest of the room to exist against.

The middle color can be used for furniture pieces and other fabric in the rooms design. If you aren't too fond of larger colored pieces, try using the middle color in blankets and drapes. This way you can change them if it's too much or just to get a different look into the room during the seasons change.

Finally, the darkest color in your color palate should go toward the accessories in the room. This means the end tables, the lighting fixtures, and the accents that you place around the room. The eye will be more naturally drawn to these accessories and you will want to arrange it so that they are placed sparingly around the room, so that they eyes aren't overwhelmed with all of the items it is being attracted to. Following this pattern can give anyone a great color-coordinated room!

More Intimacy In Relationships

By Johnnie S Laney

Intimacy is something we all Want. It is one of the needs of life, a feeling of close connection with another. It's one of the things that drives us to get into relationships. And yet, once we're in a relationship, intimacy comes and goes, and over time, it can be difficult to maintain.

Over time, intimacy becomes something that often seems elusive and we struggle to try to get it or keep it. Our intimacy needs can drive us to get a divorce, because if we aren't feeling intimate with our mate, we know we have to search elsewhere for it.

You can say that intimacy needs are hardwired into our systems. Males and females have different ways of getting these core needs fulfilled, and it's worth looking at these basic differences.

Sex equals intimacy for men, speaking in generalities. When men feel the need for intimacy and deeper connection, they want to have sex. This definitely brings closeness, but it only lasts a short time, then the men will often withdraw back behind their walls.

On the other hand, women can feel intimate in a larger number of ways. Sex is great, and they can feel intimate just through talking and being around other people. It isn't just physical for women most of the time.

You don't have intimacy forever just because you felt it once with your mate. You have to keep working on it. Sex can't be your only method for experiencing intimacy. Familiarity and taking each other for granted can kill off intimacy.

Communication is a great way to experience it, but it isn't in the words. It is in feeling completely accepted by and open to another, heard and understood. You can experience great intimacy with your mate without speaking a word or touching, and you can be touching and talking with your partner and feel none of it.

Your relationship doesn't have to lose intimacy over time. By shifting your behavior some you can begin to have more of it every day just from communicating and listening to your mate from the heart. When we feel heard and understood by our mate, rather than taken for granted, that is one simple way to have more intimacy every day.

Check on Your Potential Employees

By Hessar Nalartino

When hiring new employees, it is very common to perform a background check. It would be nice if employers could trust everything that a potential employee puts on their application, but it just does not happen. Unfortunately, data needs to be verified. Most of the time, only a background check will open up the truth about an employee.

Think as a small business owner you are not responsible for the actions of your employees? Think again, there are laws on the books that basically say if your employee commits a crime against another one of your employees, even after company time, you could be held responsible. The law is on many books in the country, check with your state government to find out more.

The last thing that an employer needs is a potential lawsuit simply because they did not do their homework or due diligence when making the important hiring decision. Hiring the right employees could possibly keep you out of the court room and possibly loosing the business you tried so hard to build. You can find out rather quickly if the potential employee has a history of suing, this could prove to be very valuable information.

Lawsuits are simply not the only reason your company should perform background checks on potential employees. If the employee is dealing with children, in any kind of environment, a background check should be used. Also, if the person is driving a car for your company, you need to be careful as well.

You may also want to simply confirm the information that the applicant put on the employment application. This could come in handy do see if they are telling you the truth or have something to hide. If you are concerned about your current employees, customers and the like, you owe it to yourself to find out as much information about the applicant as possible.
